Transform Your Wealth Mindset: 3 Beliefs to Change Today

Chapter 1: Introduction to Wealth Mindset
Welcome to this article! This is my second piece, and if you haven't read my introductory post, I encourage you to do so here. I'm exploring various techniques to harness the power of the mind, and during this journey, I've identified three critical beliefs that hindered my financial growth. Once I transformed these beliefs, I noticed significant changes, including new opportunities and additional income streams. Let me share these pivotal thoughts and how I shifted them.
Section 1.1: Limiting Belief: My Income is Fixed
What do we often think about our earnings? Before we even receive our paycheck, we tend to mentally allocate it to expenses like rent, groceries, and shopping. This leads to a pervasive belief: “I don’t have enough money to meet all my goals.”
This mindset can shape our reality. So, how did I alter this belief? I recognized that the world is filled with abundance—there are countless dollars to be made! I trained my brain to focus on ways to increase my income and envision opportunities for wealth creation. While bills still need to be paid, I no longer stress about my finances. I now see the world as abundant and filled with possibilities.
Even when observing my earnings on Medium, I don't just see small amounts; I see potential. For example, earning $0.37 for a post feels like a win rather than a loss.
Old belief: My income is limited! New belief: The world is abundant, and wealth can be mine!
Section 1.2: Limiting Belief: Earning Money is Difficult
For a long time, I found myself trapped in the notion that making money was a struggle. I often doubted that others could pay large sums—like $5,000 or $10,000—for my services. The assumption was that such payments required excessive effort.
However, I learned that many people earn significant amounts without overwhelming stress. The key lies in our mindset. We must embrace the idea that money can flow to us effortlessly. Initially, this thought may face resistance, but with practice, it can become a reality.
To help accelerate this acceptance, I often give a practical task to my coaching groups. I send them a small sum of money with the instruction to spend it freely. The reactions are enlightening; many feel joy and disbelief that money can come so easily.
Old belief: Making money is hard. New belief: Money comes to me easily and effortlessly.
Section 1.3: Limiting Belief: I Can’t Control My Finances
This belief was deeply ingrained within me: “I can’t manage money.” My student days were marked by careless spending, leading to my mother's frequent admonitions about my financial habits. This shaped my identity as a spender for over a decade.
Even as an adult with a family, I struggled with the fear that money would slip away from me as soon as it arrived. This belief kept me from embracing larger sums of money. I realized that if I didn’t change this thought, I would perpetuate a cycle of financial setbacks.
So, I adopted a new mantra: “I effectively manage my finances and build my wealth!” Every time I received money, I reinforced this statement.
Old belief: I can't manage my money. New belief: I effectively manage my finances and create my assets!
Chapter 2: Cultivating New Beliefs for Financial Growth
Each day, I dedicate 10-15 minutes to repeating these affirmations with focus, akin to a meditation practice. I incorporate this into my daily routine, whether I'm driving or settling down for the night. The key is consistency—regularly reminding myself to steer clear of reverting to old beliefs.
After just a month of this practice, I began to see tangible results. Now, a year later, I've achieved the following milestones: - I started working with clients who pay me $3,000. - I secured a position at a media agency with a competitive salary. - I conceived a large-scale project aimed at generating passive income. - I launched a Medium channel and am already witnessing results. - I became a partner in a business, earning a substantial commission.
I'm now more attuned to opportunities for additional income.
