Why I Strongly Believe in the Existence of God
Written on
Introduction
While I was born into Islam and didn't initially engage deeply with religious beliefs, my perspective transformed after extensive reading and reflection.
The Arguments for God's Existence
There are numerous arguments supporting the existence of God, including philosophical, theological, and what some label as “scientific.” However, I find these arguments unconvincing, as they often rest on subjective interpretations or questionable assumptions. My reasoning evolved into a straightforward, coherent, and credible framework:
- The Quran cannot be of human authorship.
- Its origin must be superhuman, potentially from God, extraterrestrial beings, or other unknown superhuman entities.
- The Quran claims to be divinely revealed, and there has been no substantial evidence or counterarguments since its revelation over 1400 years ago.
- Therefore, this suggests that God, the source of the Quran, must indeed exist.
The Importance of the Quran's Origin
The key aspect here is the superhuman origin attributed to the Quran. It should be evaluated as an independent text, approached with an open mind, free from bias. So, what objective evidence supports the Quran’s superhuman origins?
There are two primary lines of objective evidence: (i) miraculous verses that reference physical phenomena only recognized or explained by modern science, and (ii) miraculous numerical relationships, diverse in nature, that are still being uncovered; the likelihood of these being mere coincidences or human creations is exceedingly low.
For further details, you can explore my Medium article, "The Superhuman Origin of the Quran," and my book, "Spirituality Rekindled: The Quest for Serenity and Self-Fulfillment," available on my website www.nassirsabah.com.
A Testable Hypothesis
To underline the seriousness of my assertions, I propose the following hypothesis based on the compelling nature of the evidence mentioned earlier:
The Quran is of superhuman origin.
In keeping with a scientific mindset, this hypothesis is inherently falsifiable. If proven false, it would suggest that the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) are merely human constructs rooted in ancient myths and ambiguous allegories.
Conversely, validating this hypothesis would decisively eliminate any lingering doubts regarding the existence of God Almighty. I invite anyone interested to attempt to falsify this hypothesis. Are there any challengers?
