# A New Chapter in My Writing Journey: Embracing Change

Chapter 1: A Shift in Perspective
I've recently undergone a transformation in my approach to writing. Rather than just pausing, I’m adopting a fresh mindset.
Over the span from December 3 to December 11, I shared five stories. However, from December 12 to the present, I’ve managed to publish 142 stories within just 105 days. This brings my collection to a total of 147 stories, averaging 1.35 publications each day.
In terms of earnings, here’s the breakdown:
- December: $37.65
- January: $125.47
- February: $120.47
- March (up to now): $79.60
- Overall total: $363.19
In this period, I’ve garnered 2,058 responses. It’s worth noting that none of my stories have been boosted, which I can only attribute to my own shortcomings. I believe my writings may not have reached the desired quality, leading me to conclude that it’s time to step back.
As I cease my daily writing routine, I recognize that my pieces often come across as mere blogging. Although I’ve experimented with various genres, showcasing my adaptability, I find myself gravitating towards more substantial and profound narratives. This will be my focus moving forward on Medium.
I intend to stop fixating on metrics such as views, reads, and earnings, especially when my stories lack boosts and audience engagement seems stagnant due to Medium’s recent changes. As a result, I’m choosing to move away from this previous, highly productive writing pattern.
No longer will I obsess over the friendly, supportive feedback that comes my way. I don’t identify as a “TikTok” writer; rather, I aspire to immerse myself in topics that allow for deeper exploration and the crafting of well-researched articles.
I may also delve back into poetry, a medium where I feel at home expressing myself through wordplay and meaningful messages. I look forward to exploring various poetic styles, with the intent of launching my first poetry collection in April. This collection will feature both familiar and new poems, accompanied by nature photography I’ve captured over the years.
So, while I won’t be as visible in my creative endeavors as I have been in recent months, rest assured I’m still committed to my artistic pursuits.
I’ve also decided to transition from being a Friend of Medium to a regular member after April 17. I apologize for not being able to provide as much support to your stories, but this seems to be the natural consequence of Medium’s tougher stance on smaller writers like myself.
I bid farewell to this phase, but you will still see my name as I continue my role as an editor at the long.sweet.valuable publication. Additionally, if my own publication, “Coached Words — A Writes BlockPub,” garners interest, I’m happy to assist. However, if it doesn’t attract an audience, I’ll quietly close it down.
So, seize the moment and venture out into the world beyond Medium.
