Reflecting on My Medium Performance and Setting Goals for June

Chapter 1: A Look Back at May's Achievements
In May, I experienced my most rewarding month to date on Medium! I explored subjects that ignite my passion, engaged with compelling content, and felt a surge of confidence as I expanded my portfolio. Taking bold steps, I ventured into areas I would have hesitated to approach just a year ago.
While I didn’t accomplish every target I set for Medium, I've decided to embrace a more organic approach in June, allowing my writing journey to unfold naturally. This summer promises to be an exhilarating time for my writing endeavors, which might slow my Medium contributions. However, I aim to produce high-quality articles that truly resonate whenever I do find the time.
Here’s to hoping June brings a wealth of writing opportunities!
The first video, "Reflecting on my goals for the year | 6 month check-in," shares insights on reassessing and adjusting goals midway through the year.
Chapter 2: May Statistics Overview
During May, I authored five articles across three different publications:
- Four of my pieces were selected for additional distribution.
- Two out of the five articles surpassed 150 views.
- One article achieved a remarkable 1.5k views.
- I welcomed 40 new followers and gained four new email subscribers.
- My total earnings for the month reached $38.67.
I’m genuinely thankful for these figures! One standout article significantly impacted these numbers, so I owe a big thank you to my amazing readers for their support.
Top-Performing Articles of May
My highest-earning piece ever was an article about my favorite history books. With a background in military history from university, my enthusiasm for the topic made it surprising that it took me so long to write about it! Given the success of this post, I’m planning to create a few more articles related to history, so stay tuned!

Chapter 3: Goals for June
This month, I’m not imposing a specific number of articles to write—too much pressure can detract from the joy of writing! While I hope to see an increase in earnings, I’m steering clear of setting concrete targets. A steady growth would be ideal.
My goals include reaching 300 followers and exploring topics beyond books and reading, such as video games, movies, or wellness.
