This powerful tool enables Medium authors to access an in-depth analysis of their performance metrics. It surpasses the limitations of the built-in statistics provided by Medium, offering essential insights into the data generated from your articles.
Key Features of the Extension
Among the various statistics available through the Medium Enhanced Stats extension are:
- A visual representation of total views across all your Medium publications.
- Metrics for both Medium stories and responses, including views, reads, read ratios, fan counts, claps, and the ratio of fans to claps.
- A detailed breakdown in the Medium Stats section that lists specific metrics for each story, including an additional column for claps.
For more information about the Medium Stats Extension, you can visit the developer Tomas Trajan's GitHub page.
This video, "Medium Stats for Beginners (complete breakdown)," offers a comprehensive overview of how to utilize the Medium Enhanced Stats extension effectively.
Advancements in Features
As a committed Medium author, I find the Chrome extension incredibly useful and rely on it daily. However, I sought additional functionalities, such as the ability to track the number of views, reads, claps, and fans for each article specifically for today and to sort articles by their view count for the day.
I developed these enhancements, and now any Medium writer can access them by downloading the updated Chrome extension. I reached out to Tomas via Twitter and submitted a pull request to his GitHub repository. He appreciated the new features and chose to incorporate them into the extension after refining them further.
He even credited me for the contribution, making the collaboration a rewarding learning experience as I navigated through his codebase. This marks my first contribution to open-source software.
The 'Today' column in the stats displays various metrics, such as views, reads, fans, and claps for the current day.
Exploring Stats for Publications
Our extension also enhances statistics for your publications.
