Adjusting to my new computer has been a bit of a challenge.

Section 1.1: The Transition to Apple
I’m excited about my recent purchase of a new Apple computer from Best Buy, although the process of transferring data from my old MacBook Pro to my new MacBook Air had its hiccups. Thankfully, the staff at Best Buy were incredibly supportive throughout the experience. I really should have noted their names to give them a shout-out.
My Pro served me well, but the steep price tag of a new one pushed me towards the Air. I’ve never had a PC that lasted more than a few years, and I’m pleased I made the switch to Apple. In my view, their products are pricier but offer superior longevity and performance.
As I compose this on my new machine, I've also had to invest in the latest WORD 365 application. After trying the Notes app when I first acquired an Apple, I realized that old habits die hard. I’ve been using WORD for years, so I knew I had to stick with it.
The previous version I had was problematic on my Pro after an update, so I anticipated needing the latest version for optimal performance on the new MacBook. Unfortunately, the one-time purchase option has vanished, and now I'm looking at an annual fee of $70.00 to keep using WORD. This trend seems to be recurring with other applications, leading me to suspect a ploy to extract more money from users.
The MacBook Pro has more storage than the Air, so I had to rely on a flash drive for my downloads. It will be interesting to discover which files I actually need. Technical maintenance isn't my forte, but I was relieved to have everything sorted out by 3:00 PM, contrary to the expected delay of a few days.
As a bonus, I treated myself to a manicure while waiting for my computer issues to be resolved, and Brian did an excellent job. Trying a new nail salon is always a gamble.
Section 1.2: Keeping Up with Writing Goals
We traveled to Thousand Trails by the Colorado River yesterday, and despite the short distance, I struggled to find the motivation to write. I missed posting for the third day in January. My goal was to create a 250-word post daily throughout the month, starting on January 2nd. I managed to publish every day except the 12th, 18th, and 30th, and I even posted twice on the 4th and 6th. I view yesterday as my only shortcoming.
I've consistently written over 250 words each day, but brevity is a challenge for me.
Speaking of which, I've rambled on long enough. Now I need to finish my final post about my RVICS volunteer experience, which has been amazing. Soon, we’ll head to Palacios, Texas, for our next assignment. Right now, Columbus, Texas, is stunningly beautiful and tranquil, with only the sounds of chirping birds, making it a perfect setting for writing.
Chapter 2: Measuring Progress and Growth
As I reflect on my writing journey, I’m eager to see how daily practice impacts my earnings, follower count, and overall readership. At the time of writing, I’ve gained 95 new followers this month, bringing my total to 1023. Hooray! I’ve finally crossed the 1000-follower milestone. Now, I need to revisit my lessons from Kristina God to learn how to generate reports. This old dog’s brain feels overloaded at the moment. How are we expected to keep pace with all this new technology?
